What a Polycarbonate Diamond Sheet is
The V-LITE® Polycarbonate Diamond Sheet is a solid polycarbonate sheet carrying a repeating diamond-shaped pattern across one face. The pattern is formed into the surface during manufacture; the sheet itself stays continuous material from one face to the other. Everything that separates it from a plain sheet happens at the surface, which is the single most useful thing to understand before specifying it.
That faceted surface is what produces the crystalline appearance the finish is chosen for. Where a polished face passes light through in more or less the direction it arrived, each small facet on a diamond face is angled differently, so light leaving the sheet is split across several directions at once. The panel reads as bright and lively rather than as a clear window, and the view through it becomes indistinct. How pronounced that effect looks depends on the colour specified, the angle you stand at and how strongly each side is lit.
It is worth separating this from two things it is often confused with. A diamond pattern is not a honeycomb or multiwall construction: those are hollow panels with two or more skins held apart by internal ribs, and they behave differently in weight, stiffness for a given depth, edge sealing and fixing. It is also not the same as our embossed finish, which uses a finer, softer texture over the whole face — the diamond pattern is larger, more geometric and more reflective, so it draws attention to itself where embossing tends to disappear into the background.
The finish is considered where a glazed or roofed element should read as decorative rather than transparent: covered walkways and entrance canopies, partitions and screens, feature glazing and ceilings, parking structures and selected roofing work. Before it is specified, five things need settling with us and with the project engineer: the thickness against the span and loads the panel will carry, the width that suits the support grid, the colour, the quantity, and how the listed standard length is supplied for your order.
What the diamond finish actually gives you
Each of these is either a property of the material or a consequence of the surface pattern. None of them is a tested performance figure — where a number is needed for a calculation, ask for the datasheet.

This is where the finish is commonly considered, not a statement that it suits every roof, canopy or safety-glazing requirement. Final suitability depends on the product grade and on project engineering for the actual structure. Diamond, Embossed or Smooth Solid
All three are solid polycarbonate sheets. The difference is entirely at the surface, and it changes how the panel looks and how much you can see through it — not the bulk of the sheet. This is a qualitative comparison; no performance figures are implied.

Packaging and handling
Ask us to confirm how your order will be packed and protected before dispatch, since that depends on the thickness, the width and how the standard length is supplied for your quantity. On site, keep sheets flat, clear of the ground, under cover and out of standing water, and lift rather than drag them — grit trapped between two faces is the commonest cause of surface marking before a panel is even installed. A faceted surface shows handling marks differently from a flat one, so it is worth briefing the site team.
Freight and delivery
Freight is quoted per order rather than published as a rate, because it depends on the destination, the quantity, the dimensions and the space the load occupies, and on whether we arrange transport or you send your own vehicle. Keep production lead time, dispatch from our plant in Indore, and transit time to your site as three separate things when planning a programme, and ask us to confirm all three for your order. The 7–15 day figure published on this page is an indicative schedule, not a delivery guarantee.
Payment and order confirmation
Payment terms, the accepted methods and any advance are agreed in writing on the quotation and order confirmation for each order. Treat that written confirmation, not this page, as the record of what has been agreed. Inspection and documentation

What is a Polycarbonate Diamond Sheet?
A solid polycarbonate sheet with a repeating diamond-shaped pattern formed into one face during manufacture. The sheet is continuous material throughout; the pattern is a surface finish. Those facets split the light passing through, which gives the panel its crystalline look and breaks up the view through it.
How does it differ from the Embossed Sheet?
Both are solid sheets and the difference is the surface. The diamond pattern is larger, geometric and more reflective, so the panel draws attention to itself. The embossed finish is a finer, softer texture that spreads light evenly and tends to recede visually. Is the diamond effect a surface pattern or an internal structure?
A surface pattern. The sheet is solid from face to face with nothing hollowed out inside it. Honeycomb and multiwall panels are the hollow products — two or more skins held apart by internal ribs — and they behave differently in weight, stiffness, edge sealing and fixing. Which thicknesses are available?
1.5 mm, 2 mm, 3 mm and 4 mm. Which suits your project depends on the span between supports and the loads the panel has to carry, so treat it as an engineering decision rather than a preference. Which colours and widths are available?
6 colours — Clear, Green, Light Blue, Dark Blue, Brown and Milky — in 4 standard widths: 1220 mm, 1525 mm, 1830 mm and 2135 mm. The listed standard length is 30,480 mm (100 ft); ask us how that length is supplied for your order before planning panel sizes. Does it provide privacy?
It gives visual screening by degree, not absolute privacy. Shapes behind the panel read as indistinct, and how much is obscured depends on the colour, the viewing distance, the angle and which side is better lit — a lit room behind the panel at night shows more than the same room by day. Where privacy is a defined requirement, assess a physical sample in conditions close to the real ones.
What should buyers confirm for outdoor use?
Four things. The exposure the panel will see and from which side; the thickness against the span, wind and live loads for that structure; the fixing detail, including holes sized so the sheet can expand and contract; and the drainage and sealing at every joint and upstand. Ask us for the installation guidance applying to the grade quoted, and have the structural side confirmed by your engineer.
Can it be used for roofing and partitions?
Partitions are a straightforward fit — light is shared without a clear view through, and no blinds or film are needed. Roofing needs more care: spans, wind and live loads, slope, drainage, laps and seals vary enormously between projects and decide both the thickness and whether this product suits the job at all. Send us the structure and we will say honestly whether it does.
What affects the price?
Mainly the thickness, the colour, the width, the total quantity and how the length is supplied for your order. Whether material is produced to order or drawn from available stock affects both price and timing, and freight is quoted separately against your destination. No rate card is published for this product — send the specification and quantity and we will quote it.
How should it be maintained?
Rinse with clean water first to float grit off the surface, then wash gently with a mild soap solution and a soft cloth or sponge, and rinse again. Avoid abrasive pads, scouring powders and strong solvents, and never dry-wipe a dusty sheet — dragging grit across the face causes most of the surface damage panels pick up in service. A faceted surface holds a little more dust in its valleys than a flat one, so plan on rinsing it somewhat more often.
What information is needed for a quotation?
The application and where the panel sits; the thickness, or the span for us to work from; the colour; the width and the length you need; the quantity with its unit; and your delivery city and postal code.
