Solar Terrace Pavilion, in full 360°.

A 69 × 40 ft rooftop pavilion facing due south. Seven posts stand 14 ft at the front and 12.5 ft at the back, so a V-LITE® standing seam roof falls 1.5 ft across the depth. A 40 × 19 ft tower rises through the middle, and a south-facing solar array sits on the front beam. Move the sun through the day and the shadows follow.

01Why south

A south front puts the sun on the solar array for the longest part of the day and keeps the low winter sun under the roof edge, where it warms the terrace.

02Why the fall

A 2.5 ft fall over 50 ft directs water to the north gutter. Confirm the minimum slope for the selected polycarbonate system.

03Why opal diffuser

The opal finish softens the visual appearance of daylight below the roof. Optical transmission requires the selected product data.

04Why the tower

The 40 ft service tower has a 19 × 26.1 ft footprint. Panel fitting checks the tower clearance.
